Topic: Releasing Wolf CMS 0.7.0 RC1

We have just released Release Candidate 1 of Wolf CMS 0.7.0! It has been long in the making, but an incredible amount of stuff has gone into this version including a migration from Prototype to JQuery.

See the official blog post for more details: http://www.wolfcms.org/blog/2010/11/22/ … 0-rc1.html

Re: Releasing Wolf CMS 0.7.0 RC1

Just installed the 0.7 RC1 on my local WAMP server (win xp).
Installation without any problems, but after I've clicked Security check, I can see empty page - just with title. Should be like that?

Also have tested Copy and Reorder - issue 126 - it's working fine now.

Re: Releasing Wolf CMS 0.7.0 RC1

I just reported some problems in the issuetracker, including the one tikky described.
Minor glitches.

The XHTML needs to be checked and cleanup though, Pages tab has about 16 validation errors.

Re: Releasing Wolf CMS 0.7.0 RC1

Not sure I'm going to be able to help with bugs as I'm fairly new to coding and learning myself anyway. But I'll give it a go on my local server and play around.

I was wondering though, is wolfcms being designed so that it will remain compatible with existing plugins? Or is there a chance some plugins won't work?

I don't think I'll be using the RC for live sites, but it'd be good to know for when the final release is available.

Keep up the good work people. Great to see an open-source project actually moving.

Bah! Humbug!

There is a big chance that existing plugins will need some improvements (security mostly) and will not work with 0.7.0. but there will be (probably) announcement on the blog or wiki on how to fix this when time comes.

Fixed the security check item. Is a windows only problem.
Most plugins will probably work fine with the new version though it depends in a large part on the plugin itself too.
