Topic: Bell Farm - another Wolf Project

Hi guys

Just thought I would post my latest WolfCMS project up. This is a recent website I have developed for a large primary school. The more I use WolfCMS the more  I love its flexibility. Really keep up the good work with this great little CMS. I only wish I had time to write a Snippet administration rights plugin.

Nicely done, Darrel! Very clean and attractive: good vibe for a primary school, IMO.

The events calendar looks great - which plugin are you using for that? (Assuming you are using a plugin, of course!)

One suggestion: you might want to add a bit of styling to the search output. I use the same system, and find that reducing the "noise" helps the result to stand out. I include these lines in my CSS:

  .searchdesc {font-style:italic;font-size:small;color:#4c4c4c;}
  .searchlink, .searchscore {font-family:monospace,serif;font-size:x-small;}

Might not work for you - just a thought!

Also - a wee shame that such an attractive site isn't "responsive"! It's almost a given these days, isn't it (even the kids seem to have iPads/tablets these days!). Still, I'm sure it will serve the school well!

Hi David, many thanks for your comments. 100% agree on the responsive front. This particular website had the design changed several times, it did start off responsive however ended up doing a mobile version with mobile recognition script. Recently started using Sass/compass for responsive design and loving what you can do with it.

Calendar plugin by Jacek Ciach - https://www.wolfcms.org/repository/171

Added a Css/jquery date input to the backend to make it easy and slicker for my client to add events. Very simple system but the client loves it.

Once again thanks for your input.

Darrel

Ah, I see! And the "m" version is also nicely implemented!

And I can imagine clients "loving" a "simple" system. wink In my workplace we have a behemoth, which is universally despised. I think they're planning to replace it with Drupal. Hey ho!

Re: Bell Farm - another Wolf Project

Very nicely done site. Easy on the eyes and for moving around.

You have some html errors in your code e.g. tags are not closed correctly...

Also, I would advise you to put all css into 1 file and move javascripts to the end of the page so you can gain a bit more speed there. I'm viewing it with 10Mbit connection and it does load too slow IMO.

Also, you are loading 3 different version of jQuery lib!!!
