Hi guys...
Evento seems just perfect for what I need, but I'm not being able to add new categories or venues - has anyone got it to work yet, or any news on when it might be finished ?
*Or anything hints as to what I might do to horribly hack it to work

If I'm not mistaken, that plugin is not finished. You could try to contact Craig via forum email and see if he can tell you more or at least give you some guidelines.

Hello! Thanks for your interest in this. Unfortunately I didn't get the time to develop the plugin further in the timescale of the site I was working on at the time, and won't have time for it in the near future.
Anyone is free to fork what's there now and build upon it.

I'm rebuilding evento for one project: displaying month view with "Moving Boxes" -> https://github.com/chriscoyier/MovingBoxes , without single-event page. So for sure i won't finish this plugin either.
But I was wondering - do i have any chance to add "repeat every year" in easy way?
