Topic: Wolf CMS helps bring this website to a new level! :)

Hi everyone!

Here is the website that I've been working on with Wolf
http://www.clicketyhome.com/wolfcms

I'm using Wolf to replace
http://www.georgeleonard.com

I haven't finished transfering the content, but my template is essentially complete. Now I just need to copy-and-paste from the old website to the new. For the record, clicketyhome.com is my domain, but I am not George Leonard. He is a college professor whose website I maintain.

Before Wolf CMS, I was using just notepad.exe to maintain the site. Since every change had to be replicated across every html file, I was reluctant to tweak how it looked because I'd have to change every file. With a CMS like Wolf, however, I can make as many changes as I want to my template, and the changes appear on every page.

Hi Robert - you've done a great job getting recreating that site in Wolf. I'm sure it will be a MUCH easier management task now!

Were you planning to import all that content by copy/paste? It might be the simplest in the long run, but if you can set up the static files in WXR format, you might be able to use the Wordpress import plugin to automate quite a lot of the work.

Have a look in this thread for links and a bit of discussion.

Thanks, David, I'll check that thread out. I have been transferring the content by cut and paste, and it hasn't be so bad, but I'll check it out. Fortunately, it's fewer than 100 files.

I'm really happy because knowing that my changes could apply to all pages, I was able to experiment with CSS and create text links that look like real buttons, without resorting to graphics.

I'm really sure that Wolf will let me create better websites. big_smile
