A tip about security and plugins
Wolf CMS has a number of community contributed plugins. These are distributed separately from Wolf CMS in an entirely ad-hoc manner, and are not subject to the same degree of attention / review that the core Wolf CMS code base gets. Some tips / things you should be aware of as a conscientious administrator;
- If you can, review the plugin source code yourself, before installing it.
- If in doubt, check the forums to see if others had complaints / problems.
- These plugins are authored by developers not directly related to the Wolf CMS project – they may have malicious intent or may host the plugin source code on a server that has been compromised.
- Lastly, always remove any changelog and readme files after installing the plugin. This will make it harder for intruders to determine version information etc.
