The growing pup

The growing pup will win you over…

Going strong

On February 1st, the Wolf CMS project released version 0.6.0 of its product. It was a fairly significant release in that it added some very nice features as well as being the first major release moving away from its humble origins.

Since we are now three months on after release 0.6.0 becoming available, we thought it’d be a nice time to get some perspective on the growth of this project.

The pack

The project was launched on the 14th of July 2009 which is nearly 10 months ago. In those ten months, we have managed to build a small but thriving community which is still growing daily. By now, we’ve reached 317 users which brings us to an average of one person a day joining our little community. These are not huge numbers, but we’re still a young project.

I would like to specifically add that we have a very friendly community for which I myself and the entire team would like to thank each and every person that’s a part of that community.

Documentation & Downloads

Another sign of just how strongly we’re growing, is our documentation and the number of downloads for Wolf CMS 0.6.0 since its release.

Why do I look to our documentation as a sign of growth? It’s there for one. Many smaller Open Source project have little or no documentation. Ours is fortunately fairly extensive. Another reason to see the documentation as a sign of growth is because more and more people from within the community are actively contributing to it by expanding it, clarifying it or translating it.

Lastly, there are the number of downloads. In the last three months, Wolf CMS was downloaded, on average, 33 times a day. Almost 3,000 downloads in three months.

Most certainly cause for joy for a fledgling project as this.
